Sky High

Image
In this time of the pandemic, I am lucky to have a beach near my home. When lockdown happened and; people weren't able to travel, I was visiting this beach anytime on any day; to get fresh air and spend time with this beautiful sea. I can experience that apricity in winters and can simultaneously enjoy the roar of this ocean and the chirping of birds.  When the ocean wave hit my legs, it is indeed a joyous and soothing moment, but at the same time, the sand below my feet slips out and taking the wave back and making me feel that I will be taken away by the same water which scares me a lot. While spending more and more time on a beach, I realized that we humans are nothing in front of this magnificent beauty, and we shouldn't dare to challenge it.  Nature makes us realize how vast it is and how small are the beings in front of it. If you are stuck somewhere in your life, try to spend time with Mother Earth, and you will get your answers from it, trust me!  ~Kalrav

CRISPR - Cas 9 Technology

Image
Hello all!! Today I would like to make you aware of recently recognized CRISPR - Cas9 technology. The 2020 Nobel Prize in Chemistry was jointly awarded to Emmanuelle Charpentier and Jennifer A. Doudna for their work on the development of CRISPR-Cas9, a novel method for genome editing. Their work was described as “rewriting the code of life”. How CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing works? CRISPR stands for CLUSTERED REGULARLY INTERSPACED SHORT PALINDROMIC REPEATS and is a family of DNA sequences that are found in genomes of bacteria and other single-celled organisms called archaea. Cas9, which stands for CRISPR Associated Protein 9, is a protein that cuts DNA, providing the ability to modify the genome. The sequences also contain the genome of a bacteriophage (a virus that can infect a bacteria) - that has previously infected the bacteria or archaea. These DNA sequences can then be used to detect and destroy DNA from similar bacteriophages in the future and play a key role in antiviral immune syst...

Khichdi

Image
Hello all! Welcome back to my blog after a long time! Today, I am going to tell you the role of “KHICHDI” in our day to day life. There are various types of khichdi - it is a food we eat, khichdi - the daily soap we binge-watched once in our life, and the khichadi (messed up thoughts) we all carry in our brain ;) Now, talking about Khichdi as food, listening from mumma that today there will be khichdi in dinner, we as children start making faces or make an excuse that we aren’t hungry tonight :P. I like Khichdi, but not if I get to eat it daily. I don’t know who bought this food in this world. No doubt, it’s healthy to eat, but also whenever I eat khichdi, it feels like that is made for sick people and not for healthy people. That’s my perspective of seeing khichdi as food. Coming on to the Khichdi, which was the daily soap we once binge-watched. Remembering it makes me remind of many hilarious things in the show.  The ‘Parekh parivaar’ is one of the craziest bunch of characters ev...

Teacher’s Day

Image
Hello! As we all know that due to this pandemic, we are not able to  celebrate Teacher's Day together by being at school or college.  So here I am dedicating a poem written by me on the occasion  of Teachers' Day expressing my feelings for the teachers all over the world!         Dear teacher, You are the SA node of every classroom Heart of every school and  Respiratory system for the world. You may think you are merely teaching  But you are actually, Illuminating the mind of students. There’s a saying - “Parents are your first teacher”. But dear teacher, You are the one who shapes and molds The parents’ teachings; And give it a magical, and mystical glow. You are the legend And actual hero Who shapes this world. You are the one Who even after scolding students Love the students Equally, or even more. And don’t worry, Your students even know it more They are being scolded For their better fut...

Doraemon

Image
When I was a kid, I liked to watch Doraemon a lot but, my mumma didn't like that as Nobita was very irresponsible and misused Doraemon's gadgets every time. She used to make sure that I don't imbibe the habits of those characters such as Nobita's unreliability, Suniyo's greediness, and Jiyan's short-tempered attitude. After so long, I binge-watched Doraemon today. The only difference was that mumma didn't stop me this time because she now knows that I won't adopt those characteristics. Oh yes! I wish if I could have those gadgets of Doraemon. So much fun I could have. Especially the 'anywhere door' via which I can go anywhere in this beautiful world. I want a time machine too to go back in time and be the unborn creature whenever I want to. Nowadays, kids have Doraemon as their parents as parents do their homework on behalf of their kid, buys them whatever they want, and also they get to use the smartphones too. But when I was a kid, my parents n...

Maths - A Haunted Place Or A Happy Place

Image
Maths! A haunted place or a happy place? For me, It has always been a haunted place. As addition sign frightens me about first-aid, Subtraction makes me visualize the ECG's straight line, As if the heart has stopped, and the person is dead! As integration reminds of increasing cynicism around us. And differentiation makes me think of  my stockpiled chocolates getting lessened day by day. Also, Multiply makes me wonder about Coronavirus multiplying. And division as always frightens me about people getting divided due to  Caste, Creed, and Color. And Algebra is so lazy;  That it never finds its X. Roman numbers make me think of Rome but I couldn't visit Rome ever which makes me more curious as well as furious. I went on an investigation; If maths is actually a haunted or a happy place. Finally, I found  It was surely  a happy place for a lot of people and  Haunted for people like me. And then  I realized one day Maths is surely  A Mystery and people...

Dil Bechara

Image
Welcome to my blog readers!!! DISCLAIMER:  IT IS JUST A GENUINE AND HONEST THOUGHTS WHICH I FELT AFTER WATCHING THE MOVIE 'DIL BECHARA'.THIS BLOG IS NOT WRITTEN TO HURT ANYONE'S EMOTIONS. This movie is a remake of Fault in Our Stars which is based on the book Fault in Our Stars written by John Green.  Now, coming on to the thoughts I had while watching the movie. I felt as if something was missing in the movie and somehow I wasn't able to connect. No doubt, Sushant's acting skills, and performance were just amazing; he was so involved with the scenes that it didn't seem he was acting also Sanjana Sanghi's acting skills are appreciable too. It was just the perfect actors were not given a perfect movie. Hazel Grace and Augustus Waters just can't be replaced (Fault in our Stars). A lot of people have watched Dil Bechara and liked it. And, I would like to say; do watch the movie Fault in our stars too and also read the book if you are interested. You will n...

Handwriting and Personality

Image
Hola Amigos!!! Let us know about graphology today! Y'all might have wondered someday - "Why Cursive?" The craft of letters and words identify your personality, known as Graphology or handwriting analysis, according to graphologists. Your handwriting is the photograph of your mind. Now, let me put the light on how different handwriting reflects your personality! 1. Size - Large letters characterize attention seekers,  big, outgoing personalities while small writing points to a person who prefers staying out of the spotlight, shy, and introverted types. Teeny-tiny scrawl might mean a person's retreating from society completely. If you have average-sized writing, it demonstrates a strong ability to focus and concentrate. 2. Slant - Which way do your words lean? Right indicates an outgoing, future-directed personality, like to meet and work with new people. Left means you're a more reserved observer. As for straight up and down, you're very rational and always t...

Mr. Bean

Image
So here comes the Mr. Bean! Greetings from the Teddy!!! The great man who never stopped making us laugh using his skills. He is actually a childish buffoon. In one of the episodes named 'Double Trouble' (animated series), it is shown that a UFO full of the creatures looking like Mr. Bean with their toys come to take back Mr. Bean to their planet. It shows that he is an extraterrestrial creature but it was not made clear.  Teddy:  He is very affectionate towards his Teddy. He treats his teddy as he is a living being. He also used his Teddy as a paintbrush to paint the wall of his house and in many more reckless ways but that was fun watching it.  Mini, the car:  His car Mini was locked in a unique way like we lock the door with lock and key. He always suffered in parking his car. Don't know why but he was having an enmity towards the blue car. He hit the blue car every time and make it shift out of the parking lot to place his car in the parking. ...

Home Quarantine

Image
I was about to write a blog on Doraemon but I felt it would be more fun to write on my family getting QUARANTINED on 17th June 2020. Well, my exams are getting started from tomorrow but I couldn't stop myself to write. I was reading for my exams sincerely after a long time. In fact, I even decided not to touch devices but then this Quarantine thingy happened. Suddenly Daddy received a call from the company he is working in saying "H. V. Modha speaking!? Mr. Modha, you are quarantined for 14 days." My dad was shocked as no one even went out for days and months. But then we got to know the actual reason behind this.  A kid came to distribute chocolates on his birthday on 9th June 2020 and he came in direct contact with the Dr. who is found CORONA +VE. And the thing is I didn't even eat those chocolates.  After a while, people from the admin office came and stuck the sticker on the door.  They even didn't write the correct name instead of H. V. Modha they wrote S.V. ...

REVA - A Journey Within

Image
After watching this movie I felt Gujarati movies are really improving with the passing days. This movie is inspired by the book ‘Tatvamasi’ written by one of the finest poet and a writer of Gujarati literature - Dhruv Bhatt. Tatvamasi meaning - ‘That is you’ which describes many things in itself. The movie tells us all about Indian culture, spirituality, faith, and much more. It tells the difference between having faith and myth. Oh! I really loved this movie. I am impressed with the landscapes and the rich Indian heritage shown in the movie is just incredible. So let’s discuss the characters of the movie “REVA - A Journey Within.” Karan, the protagonist - The NRI who comes back to India to take back the property which his grandfather donated to the Narmada Ashram. Initially, he was selfish, greedy human but with the due course of time while staying near Maa Reva and interacting with people residing there who were kind-hearted; Karan as a human totally transforms into a selfless, respe...

My Bicycle

Image
Since I was 3 years old, I love cycles a lot. Me and my friends used to have a tricycle race every day. Lekin ek din saavdhani hati durghatna ghati :P meri tricycle se aage ka wheel hi nikal gaya , but I was soo obsessed for cycling that I didn't stop. I continued cycling even though wheel nikal jata and I didn't want a new cycle as I loved the old cycle way too much. After a year or two, I demanded a bicycle from my parents. Dad said "Pehle sikh le ache se phir nayi cycle milegi". I was lucky enough that my friends were so damn good that they taught me how to ride a bicycle. Thank you bhai log.  After learning cycling I again demanded for cycle but Dad didn't agree this time. He had a fear of having my hand or leg fractured due to cycling as I was hyperactive at that time, well still I am. He had fear ki kahin main kho na jaun township me and he will have to run all the time to find me. And this fear of Daddy even got more strong when a puppy ran behind...

Lessons by Tom & Jerry

Image
Today I will take you to the voyage of our childhood with some things which we learned unknowingly from the cartoon series - TOM & JERRY ; the most favorite cartoon of all from our times. So, let's start! 1. Be Elastic - Whenever Jerry hits Tom with anything; Tom takes the shape of that thing and recovers his shape again. Remember, whatever happens in our life we must relinquish and recover the shape of thoughts from whatever situation we have passed through. 2. Help Everyone - Whether it is Tom or Jerry if one of them is in trouble; they always try to save each other without taking into mind that both are enemies of each other. If one of them needs the other they are ready to help and try to rescue wholeheartedly. 3. Size Doesn't Matter - Little people can also beat you easily :P. Do not underestimate. 4. Never Ever Ever Ever Give Up - As Tom never gave up chasing Jerry and Jerry never stopped annoying Tom likewise you must also not give up a...
